Life is tough for the elderly–very tough. If an elderly person has no family left in the country, they find themselves in survival mode. A pension would not even be enough to cover the monthly food need.
The church in Sarata Galbena decided to help with this need, building a home for the elderly in their community. The first building was completed over two years ago, and construction has begun for the second phase. The quality of care is such that even the local officials are amazed that the church did this for ordinary people, non-Christians and Christians alike.
The Bible talks about caring for the hungry, the lonely and the needy. The elderly people in Moldova are at a loss without the help of people who care.
If you or your church would like to help us with this project, whether by finances or by a construction team, please contact us.
We have had some great assistance to get the project to this point; foundation, walls. Unfortunately, hyper-inflation caused us to run out of funds before we could get the roof finished. We are in need of 5-6 teams who would be interested in coming and helping us with: concrete flooring, sheetrocking, stucco, and later, painting and tiling. We can use $10,000 to finish with roofing, then another $15,000 to get the building closed in with windows and doors.
